This is from
The Art of Drawing Dragons by Michael Dobrzycki.
I have mixed emotions on this piece. I'm happy with it, technically, but unhappy with a couple of choices I made.
Happy: Lines are good. Also were done in a technique that I think I'll use from now on: using lightly done 2H & erase rather than using nonphoto blue and xeroxing it. All coloring but the head is what I wanted it to be. I started coloring the head not really knowing how to use color pencils. Then I watch 3 or 4 youtube videos on color pencil tutorials. I'm MUCH happier with the wings and the body than the head. I salvaged what I could on the head, but it's not what I wanted. Oh well, lesson learned.
Unhappy: See head coloring. Also, there are hatch marks on his body that I didn't want there. Originally, this was gonna be pencil shaded, but I changed my mind. Also, the pencil lines I DID want are too strong and screw up my coloring.
I give this a 4/5. It's about 80% of what I wanted it to be.
The link just leads right back to this page though. It's also that way with the Phoenix drawing u submitted recently.
